I remember saying, "once Mason is sitting on his own, things will really start to get fun." This statement is so true! Mason sat one random day in February. We knew he was getting close and would sit for a few seconds on his own and then topple over. Then one morning, we tried to sit him down again like we usually would do and bam, he never toppled over. Mason sitting on his own has allowed him to be more independent and allows him to choose the toys he plays with and chews on, etc. Mason spends less time on his jumper and this is probably a good thing since its not recommended that he spends too much time on it anyway. We have had a lot of fun this month. We went to Disney again, this was Mason's second time going to Disney and flying. It was fun, exhausting all at the same time. The first time we went, Mason was barely 3 months old and he mostly just looked around and slept as we walked through the parks. At 6 months, Mason wanted to touch everything, he wanted naps on his terms and food when he wanted it. This made for us to be running around a little more than the first time. Once again, we learn that having Mason in our life simply means that we learn and adjust accordingly. In retrospect, our change in behavior and expectations has allowed us to slow down and take time to admire the little things and enjoy our time with Mason. Mason enjoyed his first pool experience and although a little curious at first, loved it. Minus the cold shower afterward to rinse off chlorine that made us upset...

We love to make Mason laugh, he's a very happy baby and we have a lot of people who asks us if you're always so happy. Mason is incredibly well tempered and he loves to laugh. Yes, he has moments where he tells us what he doesn't like but those moments are overcome by his sweet smiles and boisterous laughter. Mason loves playing with me, specially because i tickle him everywhere and I have found his tickle spots!

Sleep time has become a mommy thing. Mason and Tiff cuddle at night before going down and he usually only lets her put him on her arm like a baby. Now that he's a big boy, he only likes being held upright. Mason, tells us quickly that being held otherwise is reserved for little babies... or so we say. Other than that, he sleeps fairly well, mostly through the night. ( I will never understand why people refer to "sleeping like a baby" when referring to a good night sleep... babies dont sleep that solidly and although we dont tip toe around him when asleep, we dont want to wake him up either, so we're careful! (we've also come close to killing dash for barking...)
Dear Mason,
Mommy and I are blessed beyond what words can explain. We are both learning to be parents and every month that passes reassures us that we're doing a good job by seeing how well you're doing. You're happy and healthy and that is absolutely an amazing thing to be. We are proud of your accomplishments because being a baby is hard! You're cutting teeth, learning to use just about every muscle in your body and depending on your parents to know what you need and want.
You're amazing and so tolerant with us. You have paved the way for other children to come. You have taught us a lot as first time parents and we have loved every second of it. Your mom and I are truly a team when it comes to raising you. We both wake up at night to tend to you when you need us, usually mommy will grab you while I get your bottle and you drink it in her arms and fall sleep in her arms. We both gently set you back down in your crib. We support each other in making all decisions related to you little man. I hope you know how much we love each other and of course you!Spring and Summer are around the corner, you spent your first 6 months in cold weather and what a winter we had... we are ready to take you out, take stroller rides everywhere and go to the park, pool, hikes, etc.
We love you so much my dear son.
