Officially on the road...

Go Back To My Site

While we were at Disney, Tiffany decided to take a test, seeing as if she was pregnant it would be best if she didn't ride any of the crazy rides. That being said, according to our timeline, we were not supposed to find out until the 1st of the year.

December 28th, Tiff woke me up to a swinging positive test in front of my face. I was up immediately I was so excited. I knew there would be a possibility that we would get it this time around, but knowing that in my heart and actually seeing the confirmation was something else.

The rest of our vacation went on us being completely happy about it and being happy that we were expecting a baby that would be due in September. Even with all the happiness we were still wondering if it was real or if it would last. I think having experienced a loss on our first try was harder on us than we thought...we didnt want to "jinx" it. Silly, I know.

Fast forward, we are now entering week 7! We are still keeping the news private except for our family. We told our parents and brothers and that was pretty amazing. The support from our families is really amazing and comforting that we know our little jelly bean will have amazing grandparents, uncles, and aunt who will love him/her.

The past two to three weeks have been interesting. We assume that Tiff's HCG levels were high since we tested so early on and received a solid positive and the fact that her symptoms were heightened. She started having some morning all day sickness, feeling dizzy and light headed all at once. She also started showing a little.

We are over the moon awaiting the growth of this baby and welcoming him/her in 8 months into the world. We have our first appointment next week and hopefully we'll get a sonogram to see the baby and the heartbeat.  We have also selected a medical group of midwives who have been great so far.

More to come on the baby front!

Happy New Year!

We had an amazing New Year's Eve 2013.
We met up with great friends at Disney world and we went to Magic Kingdom for the evening's festivities. The park was supposed to be at full capacity by the early morning as they were opening at 7a and closing at 2 am. We started out very ambitious and talked about getting there when the park opened; however, we didn't make it until closer to 10am.
We still got into the park; though the lines to bag check were the longest I've ever seen them. In good Disney fashion, they did a good job at crowd control.

The day went well, we took it very calm and enjoyed the rides, slow and fast alike. We took several breaks and several sit down meals which allowed us plenty of rest and access to fluids and Uncrowded bathrooms. We wrapped up the night with dinner at crystal palace, followed by some walking around awaiting the arrival of midnight.
The park was becoming increasingly crowded, the majority of the tourists were international which made it worst in a way because the general don't stand here, don't walk through here, walk in the opposite directions were not understood and followed.
At around 10:30pm we decided to make our way towards the front of the park and call it quits back in our resort. Getting out of the main street part of magic kingdom was almost impossible. It was shoulder to shoulder crowded and impossible to get through without pushing through people. Glad we got out before it got worse.

We received 2014 in our friend's room balcony which backed up to downtown Disney where they had a party of their own. We actually ended up getting a countdown, music and fireworks from the comfort of the room.

We picked up champagne and celebrated with some great people the ending of a great year and the start of hopefully another amazing year.

I feel that 2013 was a great year for us. Tiff and I learned so much about each other, we also made some life changing decisions which shaped the year into success. We filtered through bad friendships, financial stability, and starting a family! We also created a great bond with our parents and brothers and it started the most amazing family relationship one could ever desire.

So, with that, thank you God for our progress in 2013, may we be as blessed in 2014 and may our family and friends have a blessed year as well. May 2014 be the year we welcome a baby into our life and start the parenting phase of our life.
